Introduction
WELCOME TO YOUR CORE CONNECT PELVIC FLOOR AUDIO PACK FOR LEVATOR ANI AVULSION
Levator ani avulsion occurs when some of the fibres of the levator ani, the horseshoe-like muscles that live deep (high) in our pelvis, are detached from their insertion point. This childbirth-related injury is more prevalent than one would hope amongst women who have had vaginal births. Yet it remains undiagnosed in many cases.
It has been shown that having a levator ani avulsion is correlated with an increased incidence of Pelvic Organ Prolapse.
I know it is scary. I suffer from it myself and when I found out, I was worried.
I was also relieved to know that something explained the series of issues I was experiencing, one of which was that I was unable to stand for more than 20 minutes without experiencing severe hip or leg pain.
The good news is that if you are here, you know you have this injury and it will make it easier to act preventively!
By strengthening the levator ani specifically you can create more muscular mass and in time almost take over the space where the detached fibres used to be, thereby creating a stronger hammock to support your organs.
Start the pack ideally on the day following the last day of your period.
If you are postpartum and have not had your period yet, or if you are post-menopausal, you can start now!
Enjoy taking care of your precious muscles.
I hope you notice some improvement promptly.
Don’t forget: Consistency is key!
Warmly,
Marianne
